You have the wrong postgres-service.xml file for rc1. Look in http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/jboss/jbosscx/src/etc/example-config/
I meant to ask Scott to make sure these made it into the binary distro but forgot, I don't know if they are there....
