No, that is not correct. JBoss is trying to call start but your initialization of your DynamicMBean metadata is not being done correctly and so when getMBeanInfo is called, this ends up having no operations defined. Check your bean in the jmx-console and you will see that you have no attributes and no operations. You are trying to create the metadata from within start, but JBoss does not know that you have a start operation. You should be initializing your metadata in getMBeanInfo on the first call.
