If you front your app with Apache or similar, you could get Apache to dispatch any direct requests for the login JSP to your app's 'default' page (which will then dispatch to your login JSP if the user isn't logged in).
AFAIK there isn't a way to do this directly from Jetty / Tomcat (?).
