No, docroot will not matter. I'll have to look further into your
previous post about the vhosts.

why my ear files were not mapping successfully, one per vhost, was down
to the httpd.conf's documentroot thats all.

 From your reply it sounds like the docroot doesn't come into the
picture - correct?
