Can anybody suggest me where is the best place to keep J2EE-application specific
resources which may be changed without redeploying the application itself.

For example, when I used IBM WebSphere, I placed my_app.properties file in WS's
properties folder seen by native classloader and loaded it with
ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("my_app.properties"). How can I
do the same in JBoss. As far as I understand, its classloader does not watch "conf"
folder.
