Ok, thanks for the quick responses. I pulled down the standalone and was running into
the same problems. I deinstalled everything and reinstalled. Still no luck. I did
the old windows trick and rebooted the whole machine. When I brought it back up I
tried again. Walla - it worked.

So, turns out when I was dealing with the mysql connector error from earlier, I wasn't
shutting down every process. When I looked at the logs, it was failing to start
processes because the port was already in use (4444, 1098 and one other). I'm
assuming I had it really confused. I'm trying to figure out the shutdown.sh now to
figure out how to do it more cleanly. Ought to be some kinda 'shutdown all' flag or
something .

Anyway, thanks for all the help. I'm going to try to install some of the extra
modules now. BTW, I don't mind running the DDL to build the supporting tables. I'm
sure the cmp you are talking about is going to be really good though. I find the
builds are usually where I get screwed up. Probably, just because Iprimarily use to
the interpreted scripting languages (PERL, etc.) I guess I have a lot to learn so I'm
sure I'll run into you all again!

Thanks,
Brian.
