After installing JBoss it only responds to the localhost address.
It wont listen to the ip address of the computer it is installed on.
The same is true for the machine name.

this is from the server.xml file in the Tomcat directory:

[Engine name="jboss.web" defaultHost="Shuttle"]

[Host name="Shuttle"
            autoDeploy="false" deployOnStartup="false" deployXML="false"]
