In case anyone else comes across this issue when building and deploying an inbound-only JCA 1.5 RAR, here's the solution that finally worked for me.
Although I faithfully followed the pattern and direction of examples given at http://www2.theserverside.com/articles/article.tss?l=J2EE1_4 and http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossJCAMessageInflowExample JBoss always produced the javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException: jboss.jca:service=RARDeployment,name='mojoJCA.rar' is not registered error, no matter what variations I made in the XML config files. When I found the following link http://docs.codehaus.org/display/ACTIVEMQ/JBoss+Integration which leads to http://docs.codehaus.org/display/ACTIVEMQ/Inbound+Communication and followed THAT example, as well as download and install JBoss 4.0.1RC2, then and only then did JBoss load and execute my RAR. Why my RAR needed these additions/changes to jbosss.xml and the sample RARs listed at the top of this did not, I do not know, and I'll get around to analyzing why at some later point in the future.
