This is an FAQ. In fact multiple FAQs. 1) Read the spec about no guarantee of ordering of an MDB 2) Read the spec about EJBs should not do internal locking (it certainly doesn't work in a cluster) 3) Read the JBossMQ FAQ about MDB singleton (which is probably what you are looking for?) 4) Read the spec about QueueBrowser is NOT a transactional object and only sees what has not been sent to a client, i.e. it is a snapshot 5) Read my many posts about how the JBoss MDB works (in particular the read ahead processing AND the difference between the jms session pool and ejb instance pool) etc.
