I'm really happy that you chose to make a brand new getting started guide and I'm looking forward to its publication. But the problem is that until then, it's hard to stick to the right versions because Sun doesn't provide with links for older versions of the tutorial (or I didn't find those links).
Anyway for me it's not so bad since I'm using Presentation Server on top of JBoss but for other newbies it can be. By the way JBoss is one of the most well documented J2EE servers and it's one of its major qualities. That's why I really appreciate your effort to write a new getting started and I'm sure every J2EE newbie does... Good luck...
