As the exception indicates, there are incompatible versions of the javax.resource.ResourceException on the client and server. This class did not have a serialVersionUID set so it was floating between releases depending on whether or not changes had been introduced. This will be corrected for the 4.0.2 release, but for now the client and server jars need to be in synch.
