get the latest j2se from the sun website.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

click on the Download JDK 5.0 Update 2 link and download the JSDK for your 
platform which in your case will be windows. Run the installer and install with 
default options unless you know what you are doing. After the installation is 
finished, right click on the My Computer icon on ur desktop and click on 
properties. Select advanced tab and clicn on Environment Variables button. 

In the System Variables tab, add a new variable "JAVA_HOME" with value as the 
path where your JDK was installed.

restart your computer, JBOSS should run just fine now.
