Found a good option to do this without running apache for the proxy. There is a "redir" utility that simply redirects. At startup, I'm doing:
redir --lport=80 --cport=8080 & redir --lport=443 --cport=8443 & Found the source at http://sammy.net/~sammy/hacks/index.html Would like to hear from anyone that has had good or bad fortune using "redir".
