Hot deployment in JBoss allows you to work in one of two ways: -

1 - Package your archive and copy it to the deploy folder it will then be
deployed automatically.

After making changes keep repeating 1 and the old archive will be undeployed
and the new archive will ne deployed.

2 - Create a folder with the extension of an archive and the directory
structure and contents of an archive and place this in the deploy folder. This
will be deployed as it was an archive.

Make updates to the directory structure and when you are ready for it to be
redeployed just touch the main deployment descriptor and JBoss will redeploy it
for you.
