1. JBoss has hot-deployment. No, it's not that difficult to set up. The nice thing is typically your application does not need to change per vendor, although the conf. task is different. 2. JBoss's hot deployment works fairly well if you can properly package and isolate classes. .ear files are probably the easiest to hot deploy correctly.
