I have finally got the solution to my problem. Actually the problem is not with my application config uration or programming. Infact, JBoss 4.0.x comes with the 'default' configuration that is not fully J2EE Compatible (in order to make it efficient). Some changes have to be made for the default config to be fully J2EE complient. These changes are available on the 'whatsnew.pdf' for JBoss 4.0.x.
