to follow up on this, i managed to get my test code running on 4.0.3SP1, and the rollback problem has indeed been fixed, but there is still the problem of why the rollback occurs in the first place. so, one of the original questions remains: has anyone else seen this behavior while using jboss xa transactions with messaging, possibly also with an oracle database on the backend.
