Heya, In answer to my own question, it looks like switching to a no-tx-datasource and making sure the managedConnectionFactory value in login-config.xml matched (using NoTXCM) did the trick. I had a mismatch before (a local-tx-datasource with TxCM instead of LocalTxCM in the managedConnectionFactory string).
