There is no way to explicitly set the number of generated classes. The different instrumentors do however instrument code in different ways. Better performance needs more generated classes.
The non-optimized version generates no extra classes, but that means the end of the invocation has to call the target joinpoint via reflection. The optimized version generates extra classes to avoid the reflection hit. The new instrumentor coming in AOP 2.0 will generate more classes, but will offer further optimizations.
