Thanks for the suggestion. 
I have been using WinCVS and it is a nice program indeed. 

However since I spend a lot of time on Unix/Linux also, 
the standard cvs client works fine for me on both platforms.
Since Dirk executed "cvs admin -kb " i have no problem anymore. 

So we have the best of two worlds :-)
