When discussing forein key support, it was mentioned that automaticaly generating select tags for tables with millions of rows would be a problem, which I agree, of course. Now I have exacly that problem :) Not with millions but with enough hundreds to be annoying.
Since those hundreds can be divided into "categories" what I would like to present the user would be a select tag with a category, and when the user selected one gategory, the other select tag (the one with the few hundred) would presnt only a subset acording to the category the user chose. Any idea how that could be acomplished ? Maybe with the help of some javascript ? I think when we have a table with a sortable field when selecting the sort order it must have a onChange event that redisplays the page with the new Order. It could perhaps be something like that ...
