As long as the modifications to web.xml that will be necessary for existing 
applications to use the updated package are well document, there should be 
no problem.  That's all that would be required to migrate to the new 
package isn't it -- changes to web.xml?

I should think people could handle that, especially if it doesn't effect 
any customization of jsp pages that has been done.
