I'm only thinking loud, no code. but I think it could be possible without too much pain.it's my point too, where is direct servlet's calls benefit? moving that code inside (maybe not directly inside, but calling it from) the DbFormTag class simplify dbforms using.
Would be nice to have... Could you make a try to remove the servlet?
Maybe we should make an CVS branch for this.. If Sergio have a first test version....
