Hello,
I have figured it out. Turns out the devgui generated dbform-config.xml doens't contain primary key definitions. Not sure if that is a devgui bug or what. So if editing the dbform-config.xml manually specifying primary keys I can get it to work :D
Maybe get that into a FAQ or something ? :)
Great! I am not working with devgui - so i do not know. Maybe somebody can
fix this? Or it's not possible with mysql to get the primary key
definitions? I do not know, ;-(, sorry!
Shawn, are you reading this? Could we put it into the docs?
There is nothing we need to add. The problem is the mysql driver. Try version 3.0.11. I tested it and it was fine -- inserted foreign key info dbforms-config.xml as expected. Version 3.0.8 failed though.
Note in the docs it says the following:
"DevGui uses JDBC metadata methods to detect foreign keys and will automatically insert corresponding foreign-key tags into generated dbforms-config.xml. This will surely only work if the JDBC driver has support for this feature, otherwise the file has to be edited manually."
That was the problem (no driver support) and it says what to do -- edit manually.
Shawn
