One doubt: if I am not wrong, if a vendor implements the JDBC specs correctly, the connection should be thread safe (at worse the accesses are serialized). It is only a theoric constraint and you experienced problem with concurrent access? In particular do you know if there are problem with Oracle connections and multithreaded application?
