Meeting people with different backgrounds, and learning about the orders, 
violence, and ideology, I became confused. What did that honor mean to you?
How do you balance these two concepts: genre filmmaking and intelligent, high 
concept films?
we've had David Koresh. I don't like to make a movie everybody loves.
SD:  I heard that he didn't have a problem going to restaurantsand such when he 
didn't have his glasses on.
And he wantedto work with the people that he worked with.
JP: Yes, it's very true. The team was just small enough for me to get around 
all departments. Harold Lloyd really was a filmmaker. For me, the movie is a 
form of a question I pose to the others or to the audience.
I wanted to show their frank lives through my movies.
