Emacs Background color

Magically for some month now my emacs window has gray as the standard
background color. I have customized and customized without effect
(set-background-color white does'nt work correct, because I use JDE
color highlighting). So the last cause it can be is some KDE-magic. I've
already turned of "Apply fonts and colors for non-KDE apps" - again
without effect.
Although it is not that KDE related, does someone have a hint for me?
