This afternoon I have written a new JDE addon package which I
call jserial. Essentially it is used to add statements of the kind
static final long serialVersionUID = -8959500260372726356L; to your
current java source file. Essentially all it does is invoke the
serialver program.

I been a lisp hacker for a while now, but this is the first
time Ive ever released any of my lisp code, but I thought that I cant
be the only person wanting to do this so I should release it. Please
bear in mind that its should currently be considered to be beta
software. There is a statement to this effect at the top of the
code. If people would like to try it out, and let me know if it works
Id be grateful.

Ive only tried it on NTEmacs, win95, with bash. If it works
elsewhere (can see little reason why it shouldnt!) then please let me
know this as well.

Rather than burden the list with code its available at
genetics.ich.ucl.ac.uk/plord.

          Cheers

          Phil
