Emacs reports no errors on start-up. I've never had this problem
before, although I note that paren.el doesn't properly highlight
matching parenths in the macro definitions. The problem here
is not mismatched parenths but that some libraries (either inside or
outside JDE) get confused by quoted parenths inside macro definitions.
