I have used IBM's Visual Age for Java for this role. It provides
readable code neatly packaged in it's own class. I can then write the
rest of my code calling methods on the generated class. If I want to
change something in the GUI I can regenerate the GUI code and leave mine
alone. I haven't used the new version yet that supports swing but it
worked well in the old one.
