I'm trying to run bsh as a shell in NT Emacs 20.4. I have the latest releases of the Cygnus package installed; bsh runs just fine if I invoke from bash. Bash is my default shell for Emacs; NT is 4.0, SP5. The problem is that in emacs bsh does not appear to recognize EOL. I type in a complete Java statement, hit return, and there is no evaluation. Nothing crashes, I simply get a new line to type on. If I type the same expression in a bash window evaluation happens. I'm sure there is something simple here but I can't track it down ... and I've lost patience. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Allan Clearwaters

There is a bug in JDK 1.1.x that causes this problem on Windows. The bug is fixed in JDK 1.2. JDE 2.1.6beta10, which I am about to release, has a new verson of the bsh containing Mike Wooley's workaround for the bug in JDK 1.1.x.
