Id like to announce a new add-on that I have written for
JDE. Its been tested, but not throughly tested as Im not doing much
Java coding at this minute, so it should be considered to be beta
software.

       Essentially it toggles the auto-fill and abbrev minor modes
based on syntatic information available to it. From the header of the
file...

;;;
;; Usage
;;
;; This file switches abbreviation mode on and off depending on
;; whether point in an comment, or a string or not. As the jde
;; abbreviations relate to programming you want to switch things off
;; in comments!
;;
;; It also does the same thing for auto-fill-mode. This makes the name
;; a little inappropriate, but the name would get too long
;; otherwise.

       Its available from http://genetics.ich.ucl.ac.uk/plord,
released under copyleft. Have fun with it, and let me know how you get
on. A similiar package was sent to the list a while back by
Joakim Verona, which is what inspired this package, but its been
totally re-written following my discovery of the pre, and post-command
hooks. I would be particularly pleased to hear from anyone who uses
xemacs, as I have no idea at all whether this will work on their system!

    Cheers

    Phil
