You want to look at the c-set-offset function. For example:
(defun my-jde-mode-hook()
(c-set-offset 'class-open -4)
(c-set-offset 'class-close -4)
(c-set-offset 'substatement-open 0)
(c-set-offset 'label '+))
(add-hook 'jde-mode-hook 'my-jde-mode-hook)

Subject: Customizing the {'s position
Hi,
This may be a general emacs question.
I would like to customize the way { are placed in Java as well as
C++
mode in emacs.
By default it moves by "default-tab-width" spaces. I dont want this
{
to move, but only the following statement body to move and get
indented.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
