Hi, I felt that I had to reply you with more information about the faulty debuggers, as invoked through Xemacs on NT. I did try to debug an example from Sun's jdk1.2.2. The example can be found in the following subdirectory: D:\jdk1.2.2\demo\jfc\SimpleExample\src\SimpleExample.java. It brings up a window displaying a regular button followed by three radio buttons. So, is it possible to debug such an application that requires the javaw interpreter? No so, according to your last reply. Nevertheless,

JDEbug is a Java console application that communicates with Emacs via standard I/O. With NT/XEmacs, standard I/O does not work when javaw is used to launch an application. Hence, JDEbug appears to hang when it is launched with javaw. You can use java.exe to launch JDEbug and configure JDEbug to use javaw.exe to launch GUI apps. However, if the GUI apps use standard I/O, you won't see it. I have explained all of this at length in previous posts to the JDE mailing list. I do not care to waste my time repeating myself, especially to someone who not only ignores my advice but attempts to refute it.

This is my final advice to you: use GNU Emacs for Java development on Windows.
