Yeah the switching back and forth is a bit distracting.  (I have been testing the 
multi-mode.el today...)

I wish I knew a way to simply add the Font locking of one of the html modes (html 
helper mode, sgml mode, or html mode) to JDE.  It does not seem like there would be a 
conflict as the HTML tags would not be automatically Font-locked as something else in 
Java.  Is there a way to do this?  (Doesn't JDE inherit some functionality from 
cc-mode?)

Some time back I posted to this list the (partial) solution Mark is
referring to.  It simply switches between modes of your choice for
html and java.  Tabs are screwy.  Some find switching back and forth
re-fontifying the buffer maddening visually and there is minor lag as
it does so. 

There were some other suggestions along the previous thread worth
looking at as well but I'm not coding JSP at present so haven't tried
any.
