No, there is some sort of internal problem with the commands timing
out.  I also have this problem, although for me it is intermittent and
I can usually do several steps before it occurs.  (I am running jdk
1.2 with jdebug on a linux redhat 6.1 system with xemacs.)  Increasing
the debugger timeout does no good - all that happens is it takes
longer for the command timeout message to be displayed.

I believe that Paul thought he might have seen a pattern for this
problem related to a get_this call that is attempting to return local
variables for the "this" object.  But, I have not seen any solution
posted so I assume this is still a theory and not a solution.

(I unfortunately do not know how to debug elisp, so all I have been
able to do so far is to document that I've seen this problem.)
