I suggest you read the doc for the function font-lock-add-keywords.

Presumably, the solution will look something like this:

(font-lock-add-keywords 
   'jde-mode
   (list
     (cons "\\<FIXME\\|XXX"\\>" 'font-lock-fixme-face)))
