Hi,

your problem shall be that there is an older version of JDE included in your
(X)Emacs ditribution.
Try a locate jde
and remove any unwanted folder,
reload emacs and it shall work.

I don't remember exactly why but when there is an older
version of JDE included in emacs, all runs well except that
it runs the old bsh.jar.(the completion's java engine)

It did so under linux mandrake and redhat.
