Now I remember...

it's not that cygpath didn't exist, it's that it didn't support the -a
(absolute flag).  I knew there was a reason I had to go download the
cygpath source from cygwin-latest and re-compile it under b20.1 as well
as Cygwin 1.0 to get the "absolute path" functionality we needed.

So you should be OK since you're not using -a either.  My mistake.

I've been using cygpath since b20.1 and the arguments I use, -u, -w, and -p
have existed since cygpath existed.  I do not use the more advanced options
like printing out the windows system path.
