After upgrading to JDE 2.2.6 and the latest of its associated
dependencies, I notice that the usual nice colors in the XEmacs
mode-line are mostly missing for JDE-mode buffers. Only the minor-mode
strings are colorized (e.g. "Senator," "hs," and "Font").

I inspected the jde-mode-line-format variable and compared it to
various other modes' formats. The differences seem to be the presence
of these "#<extent ..." bits, which perhaps specify a range to apply
color. I'm not familiar with how these variables work and thus can't
quite propose a patch. I merely wish to request that JDE's mode-line
behave similarly to other modes and hope that someone in-the-know can
donate some attention to this nit.
