Thanks. I found the information (that I had a badly compiled .elc
file) and it works fine now.
(I searched for "vals" through the sunsite.jde newsgroup, but failed
to find it. I didn't realise there was a searchable archive for the
mailing list. Sorry for asking a question that was answered so
recently.)
