Hi,

This problem was discussed extensively last week on the JDE list. The
discussion was sparked by a letter that I received from J.D. Edwards
claiming that JDE is a registered J.D. Edwards trademark. The fact is that
JDE is not yet registered and furthermore we have been using JDE to refer to
the Java Development Enviroment for Emacs for more than four years, well
before J.D. Edwards filed for registration in December, 1999. I have
therefore asked J.D. Edwards to withdraw its challenge to our use of JDE.
