Incident Information:- Originator: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Recipients: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: jde Digest 13 Jun 2002 05:58:46 -0000 Issue 484
WARNING: The file Cookie[1].exe you received was infected with the W32/Klez.h@MM virus. The file attachment was not successfully cleaned (but was probably deleted). Report to Recipient(s) Explanation ... Q: What is this message? A: When an INCOMING virus (attachment) is detected and handled by our e-mail virus scanning server (McAfee's GroupShield), the recipient (you!) will receive a note from our server (usually LINTNG6) stating that a virus has been detected in your incoming mail, and that action has been taken. --> You may delete these messages! No action is necessary. If the virus can be cleaned, it is, automatically, and the e-mail and the attachment are delivered. The message will state that the virus was cleaned. If, as we are seeing today quite regularly, the virus cannot be (or should not be) cleaned , the attachment is deleted, but the e-mail is still delivered. The message will state that the virus "was not successfully cleaned" or "unable to clean." This is normal. GroupShield is NOT a content filter, but tries to deliver ALL mail. Any questions or concerns should be addressed to the Virus Mailbox.
