C-c C-v C-. displays a popup menu. C-c C-v . does cycling completion. But I prefer the traditional method for completion that's more like TAB in the shell: completing once inserts a substring of all possible completions. Completing again shows a *Completions* window listing the possibilities, then entering another character to disambiguate and completing again will insert more substrings.
