I see that pgmillard made this optional in the latest version of WinJab. See http://winjab.sourceforge.net/changes.php3 for confirmation.

The WinJab client itself sends out this presence information.
Unfortionatly, there is no way to turn this off that I know of. This is
WinJab reporting its version to the update transport.
