Cool.  Thanks for clarifying this.

Who, if anybody, wants my changes?  They include support for server side 
keepalive and support for eliminating error messages back to jabberd when a 
load balancing switch opens then immediately closes a jpolld socket (as 
these switches' health check functions do).
