What OS/processor are you on?
Most SHA-1 source I know must be configured to the right endianess;
e.g. on my OS X box which is PowerPC based and hence big endian, I
had to change the sha1 sorce I got slightly (a constant at the top
mainly ;)
Just an idea ;)
