All, I would grately appreciate some people testing the code I've already written. I've made an alpha copy of the software available at http://www.alsutton.com/jabserv/ Before everyone gets excited, this is not an early initial release, it doesn do anything with presence or messages, it purely handles clients logging on and requesting enough user information to get started. I would like people to test it with as many clients as possible to check it's compatibility. The name of the server defaults to localhost. You should be able to create an account, log in, store any preferences your client stores, and then log out without any issues. The server uses the same xdb file format for user files as the C server so if you want to try retreiving you roster you can copy your file into the spool/localhost directory and log in using your normal username and password. If you have problems I'd appreciate a dump of the programs output and a copy of a file called log.txt which gets created which holds the system error log. Enjoy, Al. _______________________________________________ jdev mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.jabber.org/listinfo/jdev
