I fixed a bug in xdb_sql that was causing this  and you can download the fix from http://nuthole.homeip.net/howto/ .
 
Let me know if this fixes up your problem.

xdb_sql (mysql) can't make group....
 
when i add other user with group "friend",
and then, reconnect to jabber then group
has gone and rostergroups table has no
data.....
