[JDEV] xml tag case sensitivity

Is my understanding correct in that tags should be case-sensitive, so that <tag/> is different from <TAG/>?  Should I also assume that namespaces are case-sensitive so that jabber:iq:auth is separate from JABBER:IQ:AUTH?  I have seen a couple of clients that appear to work case-insensitive, thus my questions.   Tim Ferguson
